英語寫作篇：關于“人”的8種不同表達

　　大家好，今天想給大伙講講寫作中關于“人們”的用法。大家在寫作過程中最常用的一個單詞就是“people”。甚至在一整片文章里面全都是“people”，給人一種非常重復累贅、毫無新意的感覺。殊不知，英文文采好的第一特點就是“換詞”，也就是用不同的表達方式來表示相同的意思。

　　接下來，我給大家列舉下在作文里面，你經?？梢杂玫降谋硎?ldquo;人們”的詞匯如下：people，person，individual，human beings，one，those who，population，the public。那么，這些詞匯如何區(qū)別，在什么場合下應該選擇什么詞匯呢？

1) people: 作“人”講時，是集合名詞，表復數概念。說“一個人”時，不用 people。當表示兩個以上的人時，可用 people。如：twenty people 二十個人。people作“民族”解時，有單、復數之分。如：a people 一個民族。There are 56 peoples in China。

2) person: 它泛指 man，woman 或 child 中的任何一個，其復數形式是 persons，但人們習慣用 people 代替 persons。“一個人”常譯作 a person，而需要說明一個人的性別時，要用 a man 或 a woman 來表示。

3) human being: 一般是用來指任何人或整個人類，不考慮性別(相當于mankind)。表示“人類”這個物種。通常提到“地球”、“宇宙”或者“動植物”時，作為一個對應的概念存在。比如：1.human beings are the dominant species in this planet. 2.That's one small step for man,but one giant leap for human beings (也可用 mankind)。

　 4) individual: 可作名詞，表示“個人”。通常跟“集體”、“國家”相對應。強調每一個人，相當于“every single person”。比如：this newly introduced policy is going to have profound influence on individuals。

　5) one: 不定代詞，泛指“一個人”，通常后面跟一種特點，指的是“具備這種特點”的一個人會怎樣。例子：one who refuses criticism from others is unlikely to succeed in life。

6) those who: 這兩個詞通常連用，表示“那些.。.人”，用法跟 one 相似，只不過 one 表單數，those who 表一群人。例子：those who break the law should be brought into justice(受到法律的制裁)。

　7) population: 指“人口”；也可以用來表示“全體人民”、“國民”，強調一個整個國家人民的“整體”的概念。比如：Mandela gained support from the population by his charismatic endeavors and speeches。

　8) the public: 公眾，表示社會上大多數人(的看法或意見)。This action of deception comes under heavy condemn from the public. (*population 表示整個國家或地區(qū)的人，而 public 更加偏重社會上主流人群)

　　如果大家能活用上述 8 個表示“人”的詞，你的作文一定不會陷入不斷重復“people”的泥潭。
